Utility that can be used to scramble plaintext passwords during storage for the RunAsUser, FtpsTransfer & other supported tools.
ScramblePwd tool was developed for the situation when you have to use a password in the plaintext form and thus have to store it on a local system. So instead of storing it in plaintext, by scrambling the password during storage, ScramblePwd makes it difficult to reverse it back into the plaintext form if the password was stolen in its scrambled form.
IMPORTANT: Although scrambling a password hides it from view, keep in mind that
it is still not impossible to reverse-engineer the original plaintext password
from a scrambled one!
Use the ScramblePwd tool as an additional layer of security over your existing (more rebust) protection layers.
